The Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Georgia guarantee all individuals basic, inalienable rights that we all enjoy – the right to free speech, the freedom to assemble, the right to bear arms, the right to be free from unreasonable government intrusion, just to name a few. James firmly believes in all constitutional rights we enjoy as Americans because that is what makes us free. The freedom that we as Americans have been fighting for and struggling for now for over 200 years. Our country truly has more individual freedoms than any other place in the world, and as your State Court Judge, James does everything within his power to make sure that the rights we enjoy under our Federal and State Constitutions will not erode.

James firmly believes in the due process guarantees provided for in our Constitution – everyone is entitled to their day in court, and everyone has a right to be heard.  Everyone has the right to due process under law and shall have the opportunity to present their case to obtain justice. 

James presides over misdemeanor criminal cases as well as civil cases and he hopes to one day start a Veterans accountability court. James believes that all people that appear before him in his court should be treated with the utmost respect, in a courteous and friendly manner.
